About us

Hob Hey Wood Friends group was set up to look after Hob Hey Wood, ensuring it remains a beautiful place for both people and the wildlife that lives there.

Anyone can join the group: all are welcome.

Management Plan

There is a five year management plan in place for Hob Hey Wood. This is designed to protect the structure of the woodland, improve the biodiversity, native species composition and encourage public access by use of pathways only.

History

Today, Hob Hey Wood is a small area of woodland set in the valley of a small stream, surrounded by farmland. Hundreds of years ago, things were very different.

Meet at the main bridge in the wood at 09:30 as usual.

We will be performing some repairs and cutting back of vegetation encroaching onto paths.

Last volunteer day

On September 29th we rebuilt some steps, cleared the paths of overhanging vegetation, and did a litter pick.
